Plenty of parents are wary of online tuition, and the reason is usually sound: they have seen the bad version. A pre-recorded video. A tutor sending voice notes on WhatsApp. A group call where their child says nothing for an hour.
That is not what a proper live class is. Here is exactly what happens in ours.
Before the lesson
You get a link. Your child opens it on a phone, tablet or laptop — nothing to install. If the teacher has a waiting room on, they are admitted when the teacher is ready, so nobody wanders into the wrong class.
During the lesson
It is live, and it is one-to-one. A real teacher, at a fixed time, who can hear your child and respond. Questions get answered in the moment, which is the entire point of tutoring and the thing recorded content can never do.
There is a shared whiteboard. The teacher works through a derivation or a numerical while your child watches it happen, and can write on it themselves. For Maths, Physics and Chemistry this is the part that matters most — seeing a solution built step by step beats seeing a finished one.
The teacher can share their screen, to work through a past paper, a diagram or a marking scheme together.
The lesson material is right there. The teacher can open the relevant lesson notes and worked examples beside the video, and hand out a PDF or a past paper mid-lesson without anyone hunting through email afterwards.
On a phone, the rear camera works too. A teacher can point the camera at a worked solution on paper. Small thing; enormously useful for Maths.
After the lesson
This is where online genuinely beats sitting at the dining table, and it is the part most providers do not offer at all.
The class is recorded. A missed lesson is not a lost lesson, and revision the night before a test means rewatching the exact explanation that worked the first time, in the teacher's own words.
Attendance and time are logged automatically. You can see that the lesson happened and how long it ran, without having to ask.
There is a test system. Timed online papers built from a bank of thousands of syllabus questions, marked automatically, with a worked explanation on every answer. You can see the score; the teacher can see the pattern.
Results are grouped by topic. This is the piece that changes outcomes. Instead of "she is weak in Chemistry", you get "she is losing marks on mole calculations" — and the next few lessons target exactly that. We call it the weak-area plan, and it is the difference between more tuition and better tuition.
You get a progress report you can actually read. Topics covered, attendance, test scores, and the teacher's own notes on what to work on.
Does it work as well as home tuition?
For most students from around Class 6 upward, yes — and for specialist subjects it is frequently better, because you are no longer restricted to tutors who can physically reach your house. A student in Multan or Sialkot can be taught by an A Level Chemistry specialist in Lahore.
Where home tuition still wins is younger children who need someone physically present to keep them on task, and students who genuinely cannot get a stable internet connection. What it costs

Frequently asked questions
What device does my child need?
Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera and a working internet connection. A laptop or tablet is easier for writing on the whiteboard, but a phone works.
Are the classes recorded?
Yes, by default, and they are available to rewatch in the student portal. Recording can be turned off on request.
Is online tuition suitable for younger children?
It can be, with a parent nearby for the first few sessions. Below about Class 5 many families find home tuition works better — we will say so if that is our honest view.
Can we switch tutors if it is not working?
Yes, at no extra cost. A mismatch of teaching style is common and easily fixed; it is not a reason to give up on tuition.
