How Much Does Home Tuition Cost in Pakistan? A 2026 Fee Guide

"How much will it cost?" is the first question almost every parent asks, and it is the one most tuition websites avoid answering. This guide gives you the actual numbers, why they vary so much, and how to tell a fair quote from an inflated one.

Typical monthly fees in 2026

These are the ranges families across Pakistan are genuinely paying. They assume three sessions a week, which is the most common arrangement.

LevelMonthly feeNotes
Primary (Class 1–5)PKR 8,000 – 14,000Usually all subjects together
Middle (Class 6–8)PKR 10,000 – 18,000Science and Maths push the upper end
Matric (Class 9–10)PKR 12,000 – 22,000Board focus; often 3–4 subjects
FSc / IntermediatePKR 16,000 – 28,000Pre-medical and pre-engineering
O LevelPKR 18,000 – 32,000Per subject
A LevelPKR 24,000 – 45,000Per subject
Quran & Islamic StudiesPKR 6,000 – 18,000Depends on Nazra, Tajweed or Hifz

The single biggest source of confusion is that Cambridge tutoring is quoted per subject while school-system tutoring is usually quoted as one fee covering several subjects. A PKR 30,000 A Level quote and a PKR 20,000 Matric quote are not what they look like at first glance.

You can narrow these to your own case with the fee estimator on our pricing page — four questions and it gives you a realistic band rather than a nationwide range.

What actually changes the price

The tutor's experience. A tutor with ten years of board results and a track record of A grades costs more than a recent graduate. Both have their place: for a Class 6 student who needs homework support and confidence, the graduate may genuinely be the better fit.

Sessions per week. Two sessions a week costs roughly 25% less than three. Five or six sessions — common in the two months before board exams — costs 45–70% more.

Home or online. Online tuition is typically 10–20% cheaper, because the tutor spends nothing on travel. It also opens up tutors who would never physically travel to you, which matters enormously outside the big cities.

Where you live. Within Lahore, a tutor travelling to DHA from Johar Town will price in that hour on the road. In smaller cities the pool of specialist tutors is thinner, which can push senior-class fees up rather than down.

How many students. Two siblings in the same class studying together is usually one fee with a modest uplift, not two full fees. Always mention this when you ask for a quote.

Questions to ask before you agree a fee

  1. Is this per subject or for all subjects? The most common misunderstanding, and the most expensive one.
  2. What happens if we miss a session? A fair arrangement makes up missed lessons or credits them.
  3. Is there a trial lesson? There should be, and it should be free. You cannot judge a teacher from a CV.
  4. What am I getting besides the lessons? Progress reports, tests, recorded classes and a plan for weak topics should be included, not billed as extras.
  5. How and when do I pay? Monthly in arrears is normal. Be cautious about large upfront packages.

What a fair fee should include

At Al Noor, the monthly fee covers the live lessons plus recorded lectures to revisit, a monthly progress report, access to the online testing system, and a weak-area plan built from those test results. There is no registration fee and no platform charge.

That last point matters more than it sounds. A cheaper headline fee that excludes tests, reports and recordings is often the more expensive arrangement once you add back what you actually needed.

Is the cheapest tutor a false economy?

Often, yes — but not always. The real question is not price but fit. A brilliant A Level Physics specialist is wasted on a Class 4 student who needs patience and encouragement. Match the tutor to the job, then compare fees within that band.

Where cheap genuinely costs you is consistency. A tutor charging well below market rate is usually juggling too many students, and the first thing to slip is preparation. You notice it in the third month, not the first.

Getting an accurate quote

Tell us the class, the subjects, how many sessions a week and whether you want home or online, and we will come back with a specific fee and a specific tutor — not a range. Request a tutor or message us on WhatsApp, and the first lesson is free.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a home tutor per month in Lahore?
Most Lahore families pay PKR 8,000–14,000 for primary, PKR 12,000–22,000 for Matric, and PKR 18,000–45,000 per subject for O/A Level. See home tuition in Lahore for local detail.

Is online tuition cheaper than home tuition in Pakistan?
Usually 10–20% cheaper, because there is no travel. The quality gap that people assume exists mostly does not, provided the class is genuinely live rather than pre-recorded.

Do I have to pay before the first lesson?
No. The trial lesson is free, and you pay monthly only after you have decided to continue.

Are there any hidden charges?
There should not be. Ask specifically whether tests, reports and recordings are included before agreeing a rate.
