A condition that may well happen uses the present: Hvis det regner, blir jeg hjemme.
| Hvis det regner, blir jeg hjemme. | Say vees deh rainuhr, bleer yai yehmmuh. | ویس دے رائنَر, بلیر یائی یےممَ. | Means: If it rains, I'll stay at home. |
An imagined condition uses the past, and ville in the other half: Hvis jeg hadde mer tid, ville jeg trene mer. · Hvis jeg var deg, ville jeg snakke med sjefen.

About the past, add hadde and ha: Hvis jeg hadde visst det, ville jeg ha kommet.
