Spanish has 27 letters, including ñ. The five vowels stay clear: a = ah, e = eh, i = ee, o = oh, u = oo. h is silent; j is a throat sound similar to Urdu خ; ñ is like 'ny' in 'canyon'. A single r between vowels is a quick tongue tap; rr is a trill. These guides follow a common Spain pronunciation: z and c before e/i use 'th' as in 'thin' (written ث in the Urdu guide). Most Latin American speakers use 's' instead; both are valid. Letter names also vary by region. Accents mark stress and sometimes distinguish words.

hSay silentخاموش
